This Tool Qualification Kit (TQK) is an adaption of the Tool Qualification Kit for ISO 26262-8 provided by Siemens PLM. The Work Items, LiveDoc Documents, Test Runs, and their workflows were adjusted to the data model and objectives of the aviation standard RTCA DO-330 Software Tool Qualification Considerations.
The TQK enables users to execute the qualification of a Tool Chain containing one or multiple Tools. The TQK can be used for the qualification of Polarion implementations (in combination with other software tools) or software tools independent of Polarion. The TQK allows the qualification based on Operational Testing (defining and executing Test Cases) or the Tool's Service History.
Automatic process assurance checks ensure that the tool qualification data is complete and correct before being released. Scripts in the tool qualification report documents automatically fill those sections of the documents that can be created based on the tool qualification data available in a structured form in the TQK.
The TQK also contains a review framework to implement a formal document and test result review process. Separate review checklists can be defined for each document and test result type. The reviews are conducted as Test Runs directly in Polarion where remarks and results are recorded for each individual check of the applicable review checklist.

Note
The Tool Qualification Kit (TQK) for DO-330 currently only supports Tool Qualification Level (TQL) 5 of RTCA DO-330 Software Tool Qualification Considerations. However, since the source code of all necessary extensions is openly available, it can be extended to support tool qualification according to TQL 1-4.
