Polarion ALM is your choice for your strategic development platform?

You need to integrate Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect for UML modeling as an integral part of your ALM approach?

Then you should make use of this adapter connecting Polarion ALM or Polarion Requirements in order to establish a closed-loop and completely traceable development process.

Overview:

The adapter offers the following features like:

• Complete access to all information in EA models (read/write)
• Export of EA diagrams
• Access to the element structure within the models (relationships)

With this adapter based on the agosense.symphony integration platform, you can realize a seamless integration between EA and Polarion Requirements for instance.

In this example, users create UML use case diagrams in EA to roughly sketch the system to be developed. The integration transfers this information into Polarion Requirements so requirements engineers will find these use cases represented in their used environment. Especially they can see the UML diagrams directly within Polarion Requirements, which is a very good help for a better understanding.

Of course the integration takes also care about the creation of the existing relationship structure between the elements within Polarion Requirements. During this transformation, reused elements, like for example "actors", will be detected and represented in Polarion Requirements physically only once (no copies or duplicates). But of course these elements will be used in order to relate diagrams and use case elements. Now the requirements engineers can begin refining the requirements within Polarion Requirements using the UML information as a starting point.

The newly created requirements will then be transferred back into the appropriate EA model at the correct position according to corresponding UML elements.

All changes, like the implementation progress of requirements, will be updated automatically. So all involved persons will have a clear and up to date project status at any time. Additionally, you will achieve an extremely high degree of traceability for your overall development process.
